Improve your oral comprehension in French to feel more confident

Trying to understand a new language can be hard, tricky and can even make you feel "stupid" sometimes.

When I first moved to England, I could only say a few words in English. My new roommates, who were British and Scottish, tried to tell me what job they were doing. They said they worked at the "ceater", at least, that's what I heard. I could not understand what it meant....

I remember asking them to repeat at least 20 times.I've never heard this word before.

He got pretty pissed I couldn't understand that he showed me his tattoo. I finally realized he was saying "theatre". I felt embarrassed and stupid to not know that.... I then promised myself to to improve my oral comprehension as much as I could.
